The display tops out at 144 Hz, is hardly warm to the touch, and can be reproduced right when it's turned on so I don't believe my case is one of overheating.Īnother strange thing I've noticed is the monitor is marketed as an NVIDIA-certified G-SYNC compatible display, but in the NVIDIA G-SYNC options I see "Selected Display is not validated as G-SYNC Compatible" under "Display Specific Settings" even though I can choose "Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible" above. I've noticed this in games (I play borderless windowed so Alt+Tab isn't so miserable), as well as certain desktop applications - marking up screenshots with Snipping Tool triggers this reliably on my work laptop. Regardless of whether I'm using HDMI or DisplayPort, or my work or home PC, when I have Adaptive Sync enabled on the display and G-SYNC enabled in the NVIDIA Control Panel certain apps have a tendency to trigger the display to drop to a black screen for a few seconds before coming back.

I've got this same issue on my 28" 4K Odyssey G70A (LS28AG700NNXZA) running the latest display firmware (1008.1) and NVIDIA drivers (527.37). Here's a video of what one of the issues were:

So with the listed above settings I've not had a lot of the same issues I have had prior. I have purchased a new 1.4 DP cable as well and it was continuing to happen.

If this can help someone or you're having similar issues feel free to comment. With these I have found out that this seems to be an issue with G-Sync itself running the latest firmware version. Today I am pushing the envelope more and putting the refresh rate to 240Hz and setting a frame rate limit to 232fps (will ultimately try to push this as close to 240 as possible). As of today, one of the most reliable settings that I have used is turning off G-Sync and setting the monitor to 144Hz refresh rate. We have gone through countless G-Sync and frame rate lock etc fixes. I have worked through a ton of workarounds to find a fix and I think I may have found something to go on. Such as if the input was switched or a new input was detected etc. I have been running almost every game imaginable on this rig and now all of a sudden with Escape from Tarkov I was getting random black screens. I'm a Tarkov main streamer and picked up the 27" Odyssey G7.
